Juanita Ledesma, M.A.  

Juanita Ledesma, M.A. is a National Certified Career Counselor who specializes in helping people transition from an unsatisfying career to a more gratifying lifestyle. She assists individuals in seeking purpose and meaning in their lives with the use of assessment testing and career exploration. Having been a career woman and a working mother who juggled multiple roles in her life, she brings empathy, understanding and wisdom to her clients on issues that occur throughout the lifespan. She also has expertise in encouraging adults around resuming their education or pursuing advanced professional training.

Juanita had over 15 years experience in Management working for a Fortune 500 Company before she returned to school to obtain a Master’s Degree. She then transitioned into Career Counseling, her true calling. In addition to helping those who are dissatisfied in their current occupation, she has experience providing career counseling services for military personnel, military spouses, and those who have become unemployed and are seeking to change their career path. She is also an adjunct counselor for the San Diego Community College District.

Her education consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Career Counseling from the University of San Diego. She has served on the board for the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Psychological Type and is a member of the National Career Development Association.

Janet McAfee, M.A. 

Janet McAfee, M.A., is a career counselor who helps adults “find” themselves around their career goals and life purpose. A career-changer herself, she has over 10 years of experience assisting adults with their career-related decisions, educational paths, and search for meaningful work and a more fulfilling life.

She has successfully helped clients ranging from young adults dissatisfied with their first careers to unhappy working professionals and older adults. Janet’s specialties include brainstorming new career possibilities, promoting deeper client self-awareness, instilling hope, and suggesting practical strategies for change. Her clients achieve a better self-understanding, and learn ways to research career options and identify good-fit careers.

Janet provided one-on-one career counseling and career workshops to the public at UCSD Extension for over ten years, and has been a guest lecturer in the Masters in Counseling graduate program for the University of San Diego on the topics of career assessment and career transitions for midlife and older adults. She has a Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Career Counseling, and a B.A. in Computer Science. She has earned certifications as a Master Career Counselor and National Certified Counselor through national credentialing organizations and is a California Registered Professional Career Counselor.
